Lydia’s Place - Located in Watkinsville. Serves young adults ages 17-24 who have experienced foster care or homelessness. They accept donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, and any other items appropriate for this group of individuals twice a month. 


New Heart Thrift Store - Located in Watkinsville. Accepts all types of donations, including clothing, furniture, housewares, art, decor, shoes, accessories, toys, books, and more.


Chosen for Life Ministry - Located in Watkinsville. Accepts new and gently used clothing items childrens’ sizes newborn to X-Large to benefit children currently in foster families.


Athens Area Habitat for Humanity - ReStore Locations in East & West Athens. Items can be donated at either location during normal operating hours. Accepts art, antiques, small AND large appliances (that are in working order without any major damage), fixtures, books, clothing, housewares, furniture (in good condition without tears, holes or stains), decor, NEW/packaged box springs or mattresses, new building materials, technology and devices (in working condition without major damage). They offer FREE home pick-up of donated items.


Goodwill of Northeast Georgia - Locations in East & West Athens and Watkinsville. Goodwill accepts gently used clothing, books, furniture, computers, and all kinds of other household items. *These locations offer donation pick-up from your home - including furniture and other larger items - for a FEE. 


America’s Thrift Store - Located in Athens. Accepts gently used clothing and all household items. *Athens locals - if you have more than two bags of donations in ready-to-use condition, you are eligible to schedule a FREE home pick-up. More information on their website. If you aren’t familiar with America’s Thrift Store, this company partners with local charities and ministries in each state to help improve lives impacted by addiction and children affected by illnesses. 



Project Safe Thrift Store - Located in Athens. Accepts most household items. *If you have a large donation (in size or quantity), reach out to the donations manager and home pick-ups can be scheduled with advanced notice. Project Safe is a non-profit organization working to end domestic violence through crisis intervention, ongoing supportive services, system change advocacy, prevention, and education. Primary service areas are Clarke, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Madison counties. 



Atlanta Mission- Athens Thrift Store - The store accepts delicately-used furniture, small kitchen appliances, clothing, household goods, small electrics and more. Please note - they do NOT accept mattresses or box springs, large appliances, televisions, rugs, exercise equipment, and office devices. *Donations of large quantities of clothing, household items, or miscellaneous items can be scheduled for FREE home pick-up. Atlanta Mission is the city’s largest and longest-running provider of services to homeless men, women, and children.


St. Mary’s Auxiliary Thrift Store - Accepts most donated items. Please bring gently used donations during normal operating hours to the St. Mary’s Auxiliary Thrift Store, located at 2165 W. Broad Street in Athens. All proceeds benefit St. Mary’s.


Emmanuel Episcopal Thrift House - Located in Athens. Accepts donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares, art, gift items, small furniture pieces, sporting equipment, books, toys, and more. Proceeds are reinvested into the community through outreach grants to local charities.


Junk South - They serve Athens and many surrounding areas. Recommended for disposing of used mattresses and box springs, as thrift stores will not accept them.
